This project
① is the November issue of the
-ish(
@we.are.ish),
a print studio of three designers.
This issue introduces the analogue print technique of wet습 frottage탁
②, encouraging the practice of creating hand-made prints.
It starts with a step-by-step instruction to making wet frottage prints, how to bind the collected texture
prints
③, and how to make your own printing
tools.
④
This printing technique was used by historians and archaeologists in epigraphy to preserve information
that could be lost to time and decay. It also helps to make the inscription readable when the surface is
badly damaged.
This publication
⑤ was created to bring awareness
to how modern people lack tactile information, replacing that with visual-centric information on screen. It's
not just about preserving historical texts, but about how the human body interprets the environment around.
